A bamboo “the Phyllostachys bissetii” was named for him, in honor of his work there. Also worked as the Superintendent at the Plant Introduction Field Station, Brooksville, Florida.
Co-author (with W.H. Hodge) of “The Chinese Waterchestnut” (1955), Washington, DC: U.S. Department of Agriculture.
